The repeat section consists of a simple 10 row repeat. Make sure that the beginning & end of the strips have 9 rows of stockinette stitch. Continue the repeat of making 9 stockinette rows & 1 eyelet row until there are a total of 35 eyelets. Make 2 strips.
With the Knit side facing you on both strips, lay one strip on top of the other. To assemble you will be pulling the back strip through the eyelet of top strip and then pulling top strip through the eyelet of back strip. Repeat this alternating of strips being pulled through eyelets until the necklace is assembled.
Seam the ends of the strips together using whatever method you prefer for the ends to lay flat. Grafting may not look great. On one end sew on a button and on the other crochet chain a loop that will be used to secure over the button to wear.
Shown with a cast-on count of 9 stitches.
