Butterfly Lace
The original version of Butterfly Lace appears in Charts Made Simple. This version features six set-up rows so that the pattern is balanced vertically as well as horizontally. See also this Ravelry post.
Shown with a cast-on count of 23 stitches.
- Rows 1, 3, 5, 13, 15, and 17 (RS): K1, *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k3, repeat from * to last 6 sts, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1.
- Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18: Purl.
- Rows 7, 9, and 11: K5, *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k3, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
- Repeat rows 7-18.
Cast-on count
- multiple of 8 stitches, plus 7
