Brooklyn Museum Sampler Pattern 16
The pattern is from a sampler in the Brooklyn Museum as documented by Susanna E. Lewis in "Knitting Lace, A Workshop with Patterns and Projects".
I have changed the garter sections to purled garter so that the reverse rows can be all purled.
Having just uploaded this I saw how similar it is to Rettenegger Muster, which led me to Fahnchen, which is I believe essentially identical, even including my modification.

- Row 1 (RS): *K1, yo, k2, k2tog, p3, ssk, k2, yo, repeat from *.
- Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12: Purl.
- Row 3: *K2, yo, k1, k2tog, p3, ssk, k1, yo, k1, repeat from *.
- Row 5: *K3, yo, k2tog, p3, ssk, yo, k2, repeat from *.
- Row 7: *P2, ssk, k2, yo, k1, yo, k2, k2tog, p1, repeat from *.
- Row 9: *P2, ssk, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, k2tog, p1, repeat from *.
- Row 11: *P2, ssk, yo, k5, yo, k2tog, p1, repeat from *.
