Should fold up into an interlocking grid of bowtie-looking shapes. Intended to give the pattern seen being simulated in James McCann' seminar "On-Demand Machine Knitting for Everyone". 12n+7 stitches, 12m+9 rows for an n x m repeat.
In practice it doesn't quite fold/curl, and doesn't quite round out quite enough to give a bow-tie shape, instead looking like a basket-weave of horizontal/vertical ribbing. It might do better if doubled (both stitch- and row-wise) and knit tightly in thin yarn.
Shown with a cast-on count of 31 stitches.
