Note
This key explains how to work the symbols displayed in stitch maps. You can, of course, choose to work any symbol in an alternate manner, to suit your knitting style or your personal preferences. For example:
- You can increase from 1 stitch to 5 by working (k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) in next st rather than (k1, yo, k1, yo, k1).
- You can work a left-leaning single decrease as an skp rather than an ssk.
- You can work your cable crosses without a cable needle.
