Zig-Zag Edge for Pi (garter version)
Knitted on zig-zag border for a Elizabeth Zimmerman Pi shawl (or anything). Rather than doing a YO k2tog at the join, I just use the next stitch of the shawl as the increase to create a zig-zag. Obviously, any sort of increase may be used at the M1R M1L increase point. Knitted on zig-zag border for a Elizabeth Zimmerman Pi shawl (or anything). Rather than doing a YO k2tog at the join, I just use the next stitch of the shawl as the increase to create a zig-zag. Obviously, any sort of increase may be used at the M1R M1L increase point. To make a wider border, replace k4/k5 (first section is one larger because of the increase with however many stitches you want and cast on/purl back by that many more. The sections do not have to be even, for example, CO26 and increase the K4 in the middle to k9. Stockinet version

- Row 2: P10.
- Row 3: K10, CO 21 sts (31 sts).
- Rows 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18: K22, turn (22 sts).
- Rows 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19: K5, k2tog, k1, k2tog, k4, M1L, k1, M1R, k4, k2tog, k1 (21 sts).
