Three stitch twist 1

There is not a Knitspeak term for what I call "k3 twist" (knit 3d st, yo, k2tog before slipping all 3 sts from LN). JC Briar comes to the rescue with 2 cluster stitch options, p3so-k1-yo-k1, which leans right, or sl1-k1-yo-k1-psso, which leans left. To me, the latter seems to produce a neater result, even if it reverses the direction of the twist I had in mind (shown in the swatch photo).

Shown with a cast-on count of 18 stitches.   Getting chart...

  • Row 1 (RS): K3, *yo, k2tog tbl, p3so-k1-yo-k1, yo, k2tog tbl, repeat from * to last st, k1.
  • Rows 2, 4, and 6: Purl.
  • Row 3: K2, *yo, k2tog tbl, p3so-k1-yo-k1, yo, k2tog tbl, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
  • Row 5: K1, *yo, k2tog tbl, p3so-k1-yo-k1, yo, k2tog tbl, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k3.
