Simple zig-zag traveling stitches

A narrow (5 stitch wide) pattern that has traveling stitches (twisted stitches, a.k.a. knit through the back) on a ground of purl stitches. The twisted stitches 'travel' diagonally up to the right, then switch directions and travel up to the left. The twisted stitches make a simple zig-zag path across the width of the pattern.

  • Round 1: P4, k1 tbl.
  • Round 2: P3, 1/1 RT.
  • Round 3: P2, 1/1 RT, purl.
  • Round 4: Purl to last 4 sts, 1/1 RT, p2.
  • Round 5: 1/1 RT, p3.
  • Round 6: K1 tbl, p4.
  • Round 7: 1/1 LT, p3.
  • Round 8: Purl to last 4 sts, 1/1 LT, p2.
  • Round 9: P3, 1/1 LT.
