Reversible Diamond Lace

I want to figure out how to offset the next repeat. As in, after round 12, knit 7, p1, k1, p1, place new b-o-r-m. Then repeat rounds 1-12. This way the columns of purl will be in a continuous vertical stream, which is what I am after.

Shown with a cast-on count of 20 stitches.   Getting chart...

  • Round 1: Yo, k1, p1, k1, p5, p3tog, p5, k1, p1, k1, yo, k1.
  • Round 2: K2, p1, k1, p11, k1, p1, k3.
