Reversible diagonal fabric
If WS is simply purled across, the slip sts are distinct but the reversible effect is lost. Knitting the slipped sts on WS produces a more textured RS. Be sure to snug up the knit st just before the slipped sts so that it doesn’t appear larger than those around it.
