Using Naomi Parkhurst's method of developing lace patterns from words, I developed this lace pattern from the word "prayer" in base 6.

  • Rows 1 and 23 (RS): K1, *k1, ssk, k1, yo, k4, yo, k1, k2tog, k2, repeat from *.
  • Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, 20, 22, and 24: Purl.
  • Row 3: K1, *yo, k1, ssk, k6, k2tog, k1, yo, k1, repeat from *.
  • Row 5: K1, *k2, yo, ssk, k4, k2tog, yo, k3, repeat from *.
  • Row 7: K1, *k3, yo, ssk, k2, k2tog, yo, k4, repeat from *.
