Recommended left-leaning k3tog: Separately slip the next two stitches knit-wise on to the right needle and knit them together as if making an ssk-stitch. Then slip that stitch back onto the left needle purl-wise, and pull the next unworked stitch on the left needle over it. Slip the whole thing back onto the right needle purl-wise and continue knitting. It should look like the mirror-opposite of your typical sl1-k2tog-psso stitch.
