aligned the motifs (I'm not sure this is the exact way Mrs Gaugain was referring to in her note, but if it isn't, it's a starting point, at least)
changed k2tog to ssk (and p2tog to ssp) where appropriate

The original pattern is still well worth looking at, but this one should be easier to work from.
