Cherry Stitch (modified)

Adapted from Cherry Stitch in "Charted Knitting Designs" by Barbara Walker (page 166), to make a more compact version with fewer rows.

Taking this process one stage further would lead to Dorothy Reade's pattern B-10.

  • Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, and 17 (WS): Purl.
  • Row 2: K3tog, *yo, kfb, k1, kfb, yo, k5tog, repeat from * to last 6 sts, yo, kfb, k1, kfb, yo, sl1-k2tog-psso.
  • Row 4: K1 tbl, *yo, k2tog, k3, ssk, yo, k1 tbl, repeat from * to last 8 sts, yo, k2tog, k3, ssk, yo, k1 tbl.
