Errata: * Row 3: "Seam 8" should be "seam 3" (or "p3" in modern terms) (This was apparently an error in the original: see https://archive.org/details/krl00394019/page/n73/mode/2up - complete with penciled-in corrections by one knitter. (Changing the cast on, though, would mean making additional changes in additional rows, so knitter beware.)

- Row 1 (RS): K4, *p4, CO 6 sts, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4 (multiple of 10 sts, plus 8).
- Row 2: K4, *p7, k3, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4.
- Row 3: K4, *p3, ssk, k3, k2tog, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4 (multiple of 8 sts, plus 8).
- Row 4: K4, *p5, k3, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4.
- Row 5: K4, *p3, ssk, k1, k2tog, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4 (multiple of 6 sts, plus 8).
- Row 6: K4, *p3, k3, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4.
- Row 7: K4, *p3, ssk, k1, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4 (multiple of 5 sts, plus 8).
- Row 8: K4, *p2, k3, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4.
