Sorry! The stitch map you requested is too large and beyond our current ability to create. Below you’ll find a stitch map with fewer repeats.

The main challenge for this map is that the repeats for the two sections (9 for the border, 16 for the body) have no common denominators, so showing how the two sections relate means that the entire width needs to be mapped. Unfortunately, that means that there are no row repeats visible. The six border rows should be repeated (=12 border rows on each end), and the main pattern should be repeated "till the scarf is from 1½ to 2 yards long in the centre, as may be desired".
No dramatic errors within the text, aside from claiming that the scarf could be widened or narrowed by adding or removing 9 sts. This will work well for the border, but will require some adjustments for the centre.
Oddity: Rows 3 and 5 of the main pattern (rows 17 and 19 in this map) call for k2tog-tbl ("knit 2 together, taking the back of the stitches"). None of the other decreases in similar areas call for left-leaning decreases.
Shown with a cast-on count of 0 stitches.
