The column guides here have been making me think of syntax trees. I decided to see what would happen if I turned a syntax tree into a stitch map. Not yet swatched!
(Colorless green dreams sleep furiously is a classic example sentence used in linguistics to show the difference between a syntactically correct sentence and one which makes sense semantically. This stitch pattern is based on its tree.)
