Work the 1-to-5 increases as k1,yo,k1,yo,k1 all in the same stitch. Work the 1-to-7 increases as k1,yo,k1,yo,k1,yo,k1 all in the same stitch.
The WS decreases near the edges on Row 2 can be done as you see fit - just make it look like stockinette from the front. This (probably) means one of these:
- p2tog, p3
- p1, ssp, p2
- p2, p2tog, p1
- p3, ssp
Shown with a cast-on count of 19 stitches.
- Rows 0, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 (WS): Purl.
- Row 1: 1-To-5 inc, *k5, 1-to-7 inc, repeat from * to last 6 sts, k5, 1-to-5 inc (multiple of 12 sts, plus 15).
- Row 2: P2tog, purl to last 2 sts, ssp (2 fewer sts).
- Row 3: K3, *ssk, k3, k2tog, k5, repeat from * to last 10 sts, ssk, k3, k2tog, k3 (multiple of 10 sts, plus 11).
- Row 5: K3, *ssk, k1, k2tog, k5, repeat from * to last 8 sts, ssk, k1, k2tog, k3 (multiple of 8 sts, plus 9).
- Row 7: K3, *sl2-k1-p2sso, k5, repeat from * to last 6 sts, sl2-k1-p2sso, k3 (multiple of 6 sts, plus 7).
- Row 9: K3, *1-to-7 inc, k5, repeat from * to last 4 sts, 1-to-7 inc, k3 (multiple of 12 sts, plus 13).
- Row 11: K2, *k2tog, k5, ssk, k3, repeat from * to last 11 sts, k2tog, k5, ssk, k2 (multiple of 10 sts, plus 11).
- Row 13: K1, *k2tog, k5, ssk, k1, repeat from * to last 10 sts, k2tog, k5, ssk, k1 (multiple of 8 sts, plus 9).
- Row 15: Ssk, *k5, sl2-k1-p2sso, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k5, k2tog (multiple of 6 sts, plus 7).
- Repeat rows 1-16.
