This is a version of what I'm calling Duck Tail Lace to be knit in the round. I harvested this stitch pattern from a Russian site that neglected to name its source. If you know of a more common name for it, or know where it was first published, please share and I'll correct the info here. The flat version pattern is that great for shawls and sweaters. In the round it makes a nice hat or cowl. Make sure to block the swatch if size matters as it really opens up! My version for knitting it flat can also be found on Stitch-Maps.
