Considering that the cast on is 152 ("Cast on 56 stitches on the first needle, and 48 on each of the other 2."), and that it goes up to 212 stitches within the first 20 rounds, the yarn and needles must be fairly thin.
Given that rows 19-22 of the leg should be repeated 45 times, and there are 18 rows before that, the leg works out to nearly 200 rows.
The foot is about 170 rows from instep/gusset start to toe.
At a rough estimate, there are 10x the number of stitches as for the average 60 or 64st mid-calf sock in fingering weight.
