Square Filet Edging (without sawtooth)

Modified from Square Filet Edging in Barbara Walker's Treasury, page 374. I've removed the sawtooth edge, and fiddled about a bit with the rest of the pattern.

Sorry that the swatch is badly blocked. I've now edited the pattern to add loops down the edge that a blocking wire could be inserted into.

  • Row 1 (RS): K1, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k1, yo, yo, k8, drop st (16 sts).
  • Row 2: Yo, knit (17 sts).
  • Row 3: K1, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k1, [yo, yo, k2tog] twice, k3, k2tog, k1, drop st.
  • Rows 4, 6, and 8: Yo, knit (18 sts).
  • Row 5: K1, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k1, yo, yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k1, k2tog, k1, drop st (17 sts).
  • Row 7: K1, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k1, yo, yo, k2tog, k3, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k2tog, drop st (17 sts).
  • Row 9: K1, k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog, k2tog, k1, k5, k2tog, k2tog, drop st (14 sts).
  • Row 10: Yo, knit (15 sts).
