Rosebuds

To reduce the bulk of p3tog, I tried the following: pass 2d st over first st twice, then purl remaining st. This results in a "dropped" cluster st, and an interesting WS. If Knitspeak had directions for the technique, perhaps they'd read: [p2so twice], p1.

Shown with a cast-on count of 10 stitches.   Getting chart...

  • Rows 1 and 3 (RS): K1, *p1, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1.
  • Row 2: P1, *p3tog, (k1, yo, k1) in next st, repeat from * to last st, p1.
  • Row 4: P1, *(k1, yo, k1) in next st, p3tog, repeat from * to last st, p1.
