Majken doily modification
From "Knitted Lace" by Sonja Essbensen and Anna Rasmussen.
The border looks rather squeezed in the picture in the book. I've modified row 53 so that there are four little repeats instead of five in the border.
The charting method used in the book is not particularly easy to follow and it gives no idea of the finished appearance or how the rows of stitches fit together. Stitch Maps is a great help in such cases.
Shown with a cast-on count of 20 stitches.
- Rounds 44, 46-52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66, 68, and 70: Knit.
- Round 45: Yo, k1, [yo, sl1-k2tog-psso, yo, k3] twice, yo, sl1-k2tog-psso, yo, k1, yo, sl1-k2tog-psso.
- Round 53: [Yo, ssk, k3] 4 times.
- Round 55: [Yo, k1, yo, k4] 4 times (28 sts).
- Round 57: [Yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k2] 4 times (40 sts).
- Round 59: [Yo, k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, yo, sl1-k2tog-psso] 4 times (48 sts).
- Round 61: [Ssk, k7, k2tog, yo, k1, yo] 4 times.
- Round 63: [Ssk, k5, k2tog, yo, k3, yo] 4 times.
