I opted for yo instead of yo yo (which is also possible). Thus I needed k1, p1 into yo for the next WS row.

Maybe I should have started in a row 3 instead.

My project with this pattern is a dish cloth. -> small needles, cotton yarn -> very tight
And later I used the pattern for a shirt (see photo with the stockinette part). -> loose fabric -> pattern looks completely different

If your ssk gets sloppy, you might try some tricks: VIDEO (CAT BORDHI -Slim & Trim SSK's)
My preference is improved ssk.

Achtung! Ich habe keinen doppelten Umschlag gemacht (wie es im Ursprungsmuster gefordert wurde), sondern nur einen einfachen. In der Rückreihe habe ich dann eine rechte und eine linke Masche aus dem Umschlag rausgestrickt. So ist das Loch nicht so groß.

2 M. re überz.zus.stricken: Ich strick das jetzt meist so: eine Masche wie zum rechts stricken abheben und zurück auf die linke Nadel geben. Die Masche liegt nun verdreht auf der Nadel. Dann stech ich mit der rechten Nadel von rechts nach links durch die ersten beiden Nadeln und hole den Faden durch. Die Maschen von der linken Nadel gleiten lassen. Das wird häufig als improved ssk bezeichnet.
