Textured rows created by slipped stitches and rapid increases and decreases. The 5th and 6th rows are worked in a contrasting color.

- Rows 1 and 3 (RS): Knit.
- Rows 2 and 4: Purl.
- Row 5: K1, (k1, yo, k1) in next st, *sl1 wyib, (k1, yo, k1) in next st, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 4 sts, plus 5).
- Row 6: K1, k3tog tbl, *sl1 wyif, k3tog tbl, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 2 sts, plus 3).
