Biscornu

Piecework had an article about the sewn and embroidered pincushions recently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscornu The 2 sides are rotated by 45 degrees so there are 8 points. Here is my knit version: With a provisional cast on, CO even number of stitches * 4. Work 1 side, then work the other, but offset stitches so the decrease is centered opposite the twisted stitch of the chart. (my blocking was wonky!)

  • Rounds 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21: Knit.
  • Round 2: *K9, sl2-k1-p2sso, k9, k1 tbl, repeat from * (multiple of 20 sts).
  • Round 4: *K8, sl2-k1-p2sso, k9, repeat from * (multiple of 18 sts).
  • Round 6: *K7, sl2-k1-p2sso, k8, repeat from * (multiple of 16 sts).
  • Round 8: *K6, sl2-k1-p2sso, k7, repeat from * (multiple of 14 sts).
