  • Row 1: the instructions for the "[yo, k2tog] twice, yo, k4tog" are as follows in Mrs Mee's version: "(make 1 and knit 2 together 3 times), knit 2 together and draw the preceding stitch on the right-hand needle over the stitch formed by knitting the last 2 together". A k4tog won't have quite the same look, although considering that Mrs Mee's instructions for this pattern use k2tog for all single decreases, I doubt those instructions were specified for their appearance. They were likely used for ease of working.
