Basic one-color brioche rib

To do the homework for my Next Steps in Brioche class, cast on 14 sts loosely using one solid-color yarn. Continuing with the same color, work in this pattern until your swatch is 1" tall and you can see the brioche rib pattern.

As a reminder: brSl = brioche slip = slip and yarn over at the same time = bring yarn to front, slip 1 st purlwise, and bring yarn over right needle to back, creating two loops that count as one stitch; on the following row, work these two loops together.

Shown with a cast-on count of 4 stitches.   Getting chart...

  • Row 1 (RS): *BrSl, k1, repeat from *.
  • Row 2: *BrSl, k1, repeat from *.
