Abaris Point Edging

The original instructions in Tessa Lorant’s Knitted Lace Doilies* for row 21 read: [Yo, k2tog] twice, k1, [[yo] twice, k2tog] 5 times, pso (pass the second st on RHN over first, ie, make a chain cast-off), k1. And the M1L should be worked without twisting.

But I have to wonder: could the essence of the pattern be preserved with simplified instructions? See this attempt.
