Square Heel and Gusset for 64 st Sock
Same as square toe with a short row gusset added for instep, can't figure out how to add short row shaping to circular knitting in knitspeak so have graphed this as half the heel, flat. It is actually knit on 64 sts in the rounds with short row shaping at the start.
Shown with a cast-on count of 0 stitches.
- Row 0 (RS): CO 32 sts (32 sts).
- Rows 1, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29, 31, and 33: Purl.
- Row 2: K19, w&t (19 sts).
- Row 3: P6, w&t (6 sts).
- Row 4: K8, w&t (8 sts).
- Row 5: P10, w&t (10 sts).
- Row 6: K12, w&t (12 sts).
- Row 7: P14, w&t (14 sts).
- Row 8: K16, w&t (16 sts).
- Row 9: P18, w&t (18 sts).
- Row 10: K20, w&t (20 sts).
- Row 11: P22, w&t (22 sts).
- Row 12: Knit (27 sts).
- Row 13: Purl (32 sts).
- Rows 14, 18, 22, 26, and 28: Knit.
- Row 16: *K6, ssk, k2tog, k6, repeat from * (28 sts).
- Row 20: *K5, ssk, k2tog, k5, repeat from * (24 sts).
- Row 24: *K4, ssk, k2tog, k4, repeat from * (20 sts).
- Row 27: *P3, p2tog, p2tog tbl, p3, repeat from * (16 sts).
- Row 30: *K2, ssk, k2tog, k2, repeat from * (12 sts).
- Row 32: *K1, ssk, k2tog, k1, repeat from * (8 sts).
- Row 34: *Ssk, k2tog, repeat from * (4 sts).
