I use this regularly in my own stitch patterns, but I don’t see a reason to use it here (as it’s not being used as a mirror image, and it’s more complicated than necessary). But if you want to use it, here’s what to do instead of slip 1–knit 2 tog—psso: ssk, slip resulting stitch back to left needle, pass next stitch over, and slip back to right needle.

Also, I’ve written up a modified version of this stitch pattern that I think works a bit better.

  • Row 1 (RS): *K5, yo, k2tog, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1.
  • Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12: Purl.
  • Row 3: *K3, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1.
  • Row 5: K1, *k1, ssk, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, repeat from *.
  • Row 7: *Yo, sl1-k2tog-psso, yo, k5, repeat from * to last st, k1.
  • Row 9: *K1, kfb, k6, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 9 sts, plus 1).
  • Row 11: *K2tog, k4, yo, k2tog, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 8 sts, plus 1).
  • Repeat rows 3-12.
