Tile Stitch

This is from "Mon Tricot's 1,300 Pattern Stitches", 1979, which, according to the foreword, is 'Indispensable to any woman who wants to learn how to knit'. Despite being a man, I too find it indispensable.

I have tweeked the instructions for row 15, and I've also modified the edge stitches to make the sides symmetrical.

  • Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16: Purl.
  • Row 3: P1, *k2, yo, ssk, k3, k2tog, yo, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, p1.
