Faux Cable
Based on Narrow Flat Cables in Knitting Fresh Brioche* by Nancy Marchant. With different selvedges, and with “extra” stitches to balance the pattern left and right. For best results, end having worked row 14 or 26.

- Rows 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, and 25 (WS): *P1, brSl, repeat from * to last 2 sts, p1, sl1 wyib.
- Rows 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, and 26 (WS): Sl1 wyif, k1, *brSl, k1, repeat from *.
- Row 3: Sl1 wyif, [k1, brSl] twice, k3tog, *[brSl, k1] 6 times, brSl, k3tog, repeat from * to last 6 sts, [brSl, k1] 3 times (multiple of 14 sts, plus 12).
- Rows 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24 (RS): *P1, brSl, repeat from * to last 2 sts, p1, sl1 wyib.
