Thistles
Pattern from an article in the Spring 2017 issue Creative Knitting. Used with Flowing Lace and Diagonal Madeira Lace in a swatch for a different version of the Lace Sampler.

- Row 1 (RS): *K1, ssk, k1, [yo, k1] twice, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1.
- Rows 2, 4, 6, and 8: Purl.
- Row 3: *K1, ssk, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1.
- Row 5: *K1, yo, k1, k2tog, k1, ssk, k1, yo, repeat from * to last st, k1.
- Row 7: *K2, yo, k2tog, k1, ssk, yo, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1.
Cast-on count
- multiple of 8 stitches, plus 1
