An elongated adaptation of a 4-row pattern called Irish mesh. The original instructions call for simply purling WS rows (here, rows 4 and 8).

- Rows 2 and 6: Purl.
- Row 3: K2, *yo, sl1-k2-psso, repeat from * to last st, k1.
- Row 4: P1, *p2, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2.
- Row 7: K1, *sl1-k2-psso, yo, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
- Row 8: *P2, k1, repeat from * to last 3 sts, p3.
